Special Issue on “Driving the Digital Economy with Cutting-Edge Technologies, Innovation and Data Analytics”
Paper Publication Opportunity:
All participants of ICDEc 2024 and all members of the ICDEc community are invited to submit papers to the Journal of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy for a special issue on “Driving the Digital Economy with Cutting-Edge Technologies, Innovation and Data Analytics”. The Journal is indexed and rated Q2 by Scopus.
This special issue is edited in collaboration with the chairs of the ninth edition of the International Conference on Digital Economy: Emerging Technologies and Business Innovation (ICDEc 2024, May 9-11, 2024, Rabat, Morocco). The editors invite the community of researchers from Computer Science and Management fields to submit papers that discuss issues related to digital economy, emerging technologies, innovation and data analytics.
After a double-blind peer-review process, papers accepted for this special issue will be published on the JTDE website and in the Journal of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy – volume 13, issue 1, March 2025.
Scope:
We invite high-quality, original research papers that explore the advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the field of advanced technologies, innovation and data analytics and their impact on the digital economy. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- AI, IoT, and Blockchain: Technologies, strategies and business models
- Impact of telecommunications on the digital economy
- Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities
- Blockchain technology in telecommunications
- Big data and analytics in telecommunications and the digital economy
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in the digital economy
- Data analytics and privacy challenges
- Regulatory and policy issues in the digital economy
- Case studies on the implementation of advanced technologies and innovative data analytics methods

Writing for the Journal:
The Journal of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy accepts papers on a wide range of topics related to technology and services that support the digital economy and digital society.
Papers that describe novel developments – whether existing or envisaged – and their benefits are particularly welcome. Submissions should be original, unpublished work, and should not be under review elsewhere. Published papers in ICDEc proceedings should be extended at least by 50%. Papers should be written for readers who are educated and well informed but are not necessarily expert in the relevant field of research. Authors should be careful to situate their work within the context of telecommunications or the digital economy.
Papers should be about 4,000–5,000 words in length, excluding references.
